Comprehensive Course (IES)

Comprehensive Course (IES) Designed to prepare the students towards Engineering Service Exam Conducted by UPSC. This  course tailored with high consideration to all three elements of the Examination that is Prelims, Mains and Interview.


A competitive examination is conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services. The Examination constitutes of a written examination followed by an interview for the personality test. The recruitment of qualified candidates is made under the following categories:

  • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering




  • A degree in Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only.

Age-limits: 21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination.

  • Certain categories of persons including departmental candidates as specified in the Commission’s Notice as published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar are eligible for age relaxation.

Syllabus for Civil Engineering

Building Materials, Solid Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Design of Steel Structures, Design of Concrete and Masonry Structures, Construction Practice, Planning and Management, Flow of fluids, Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geo-Technical Engineering and Foundation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Surveying and Geology.

Syllabus for Mechanical Engineering

Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, IC Engines, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning, Turbo Machinery, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Materials, Mechanisms and Machines, Design of machine Elements, Mechatronics and Robotics, Power Plant Engineering, Renewable Source of energy, Manufacturing, Industrial and Maintenance Engineering

Syllabus for Electrical Engineering

Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Materials, Computer Fundamentals, Basic Electronics Engineering, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, Analog and Digital Electronics, Electrical Fields and Circuits, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Systems and Signal Processing, Control Systems.
